The Traffic Message Channel (TMC)
is a specific application of the FM Radio Data System
(RDS) used for broadcasting real-time traffic and weather
information. The apm7601 is designed for easy integration
of TMC functionality in the PDA or mobile navigation equipments
with a small form factor of 10x10x1.9 mm. It provides
extended features with chip-sized PCB space requirements.
To combine the apm7601 with any navigation system can
offer dynamic route guidance alerting the driver of a
problem on the planned route and calculated an alternative
route to avoid the incident. The pre-tested module reduces
the customer development risk and cost greatly.
